Precision or Guess Work?

The fitness industry is at an all time high, it seems that it has survived the credit crunch, certainly in London, the demand for personal training, gym memberships and weight loss information is very high.

But how much of the information we get is accurate? If you have the time to wade through all of the latest articles in newspapers, magazines and online  forums, then you will get many many different points of view.

Who do you do believe? Who should you believe?

As someone who has spent the last 10 years working in this sometimes very confusing ever changing industry, I have found that sticking to the simple basics always works.

So here is my top five simple, basic non-fad, non-latest fad tips to long term, health, happiness and leanness:

1. Do a proper detox - clean out your liver, gut and replace the good bacteria that was depleted from your last course of antibiotics, even if it was a few years ago...............

2. You can only absorb what you can assimilate, get your stomach acid levels checked.

3. If it wasn't around 10,000 years ago, don't put it in your mouth. I don't ever remember reading about the ancient Greeks eating bran flakes or toast and jam..................or the Celts eating Paninis.........

4. You can't drown from the inside, drink enough good clean water dependant on how much you weigh, and for most people it's way above the outdated government guideline of 8 glasses per day, try 16 glasses and see how much better you feel.

5. Where possible eat clean foods, clean means no hormones, no pesticides, no fungicides, no herbicides. There should be nothing in your diet that you cant spell without the aid of a chemical encyclopedia......
